A range of thermal analysis is available including Perkin Elmer and TA instruments equipment used for solid form screening and thermal characterisation of solids. Analysis of form specific transitions such as melting point by DSC for batch release or polymorphism study via thermal cycling is common. Characterisation of solvated/hydrated states including TGA data is used to determine safe drying temperatures. Safety evaluation by DSC is also conducted in support of batch and semi-batch process development.
